Does well for its price June 28, 2010 RRPeterson (Az, USA) I got this to hold my cell phone (Palm Pre) while displaying map info. It fastens securely to the windshield using the suction cup and adjusts well to face where it's needed. One caveat is the vent attachment doesn't work with my Mazda 6 vents, the slats are too deep/long for the clips to hook into. It seems to hold up pretty decently, even though it feels like very lightweight plastic.
Need to find a better solution May 31, 2010 Beckinstein (Alameda, Ca) I tried to use this to hold my iPhone on the heater vent on my cars dash. It was very difficult to get it's various parts to slide into place, my phone often pops out of it, and it was almost impossible to get it attached to the dash vents. It would pop off the vents frequently, and within a few months it managed to break three of the little vent slats. That has been fun. My heater vent is now completely broken, no more direction control at all.
Sometimes I'm a little hard headed, so I tried to keep using it, because dammit it should do it's job. So I tried to use it on the other vent. Luckily this time the clamps on the back of the actual holder broke, instead of the car vent pieces.
Time to find something that actually does it's job.
It Works, but it isn't great April 19, 2010 C. Spradling (CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been using this lightly (about once or twice a week on long drives) for a few months now. The construction of the product feels cheap, but does work. The suction cup works, but is not completely secure. After temperature changes it seems to lose its suction and must be re-attached to the window. It has fallen off a couple times, but it is uncommon. In conclusion - If you have a touchscreen phone and you plan on poking it while driving, get something more secure. If you don't mind something a bit more delicate and want to save some cash, this thing should suffice.
Great for different uses April 12, 2010 Tim F. (Miami) I needed a car mount that I could use for my iPhone and GPS - this works extremely well for practically any handheld electronic gadget. What I really like is that I can have my iPhone on landscape view for videos and quickly twist it upright to navigate through songs, podcasts, etc. The quality of the the material is less than stellar, but for the price, it's a good buy.
Vent mount mighty crappy March 19, 2010 Ivo Andov (Tacoma, WA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this item specifically for using it on one of my air vents. However, the way it mounts to the vent is very loose and the quality is quite low. I was too lazy to return it so I am using it now, but I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone - there has to be a better product out there.
